Location: Sweetwater County Justice Center – Training Room

When: June 11, 2025 – 6:30 P.M.

We will be hosting a class to the general public about programing radios. This will be a fairly simple overview on the basics of what to understand when it comes to radio’s and getting different frequencies to stay in the radio as a memory channel for quick recall. While there are a huge variety of radios out on the market today, this course will be focused on HT radios, specifically the Baofeng UV-5R radio. The concepts within this course can be adapted to apply to other radios, however each radio has it’s own quirks and can be slightly different. The reasoning on why we are running with the UV-5R, is that this radio is fairly inexpensive, and easy to come by for getting started into Ham Radio.
